In 2015, the company secured a $6m investment from Hollard Investments of the Hollard Group. In 2016, OpenAgent received $12m from Reinventure, the Westpac-backed venture capital group.
As of 2019, OpenAgent ranks over 30,000 real estate agents across Australia. The company calls to pre-qualify property sellers and to determine what they need in an agent before providing a list of suitable options. If a property is sold, the successful real estate agent pays a standard 20% industry rate of their commission to OpenAgent. OpenAgent also provides a property valuation service called OpenEstimates.
