Nokian Tyres is the world’s northernmost tire manufacturer that offers peace of mind in all conditions. Our know-how stems from our Scandinavian roots and values. Our Group also includes the Vianor chain, specialising in vehicle maintenance and tire services.
In 2020, the company’s turnover was approximately EUR 1.3 billion and it employed some 4,600 people. Nokian Tyres is listed on Nasdaq Helsinki.
Business areas
We develop and manufacture high-quality tires for passenger cars, vans and trucks. We are especially well known for our innovative winter tires, while we also develope competitive summer and all-season tire ranges. As one of the world's leading manufacturers of heavy special tires, we focus on selected segments, such as forest, agricultural, harbour and mining machinery. Our group also includes the Vianor chain, specialising in vehicle maintenance and tire services.
Market areas
Nokian Tyres is a strong brand especially in the Nordic countries and Russia, while Central Europe and North America are growth markets for us. Our innovative and pioneering products, high-quality services and strong distribution network help us increase our market share in growth regions. In the long term, we want to operate on all significant winter tyre markets.
Production
Key products are produced in our factories in Nokia, Finland, in Vsevolozhsk, Russia and in Dayton, US. Certain products are produced by off-take contract manufacturers in factories where the quality level corresponds to Nokian Tyres’ high standards.
History of Nokian Tyres
Nokian Tyres plc was founded in 1988 and the company’s roots go back all the way to 1898, when Suomen Gummitehdas Oy, or Finnish Rubber Factory, was established.
