Nervana Systems, also known as Nervana, was a company providing software for enterprises to develop their own deep learning software. Nervana was established in 2014 by Amir Khosrowshahi, Arjun Bansal, and Naveen Rao. The company aimed to provide a more efficient method to develop deep learning solutions through the use of the company’s software and hardware. Nervana was based in San Diego, California, United States. The company was acquired by Intel Corporation in 2016, and is now operating as one of its artificial intelligence solutions.

Nervana’s products are intended for use by companies in various industries – from automotive, healthcare, to financial institutions – with intentions to utilize machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities to improve their products, services, or business operations.
Prior to being acquired by Intel for more than $400 million, Nervana managed to raise a total capital of $24.4 million through three funding rounds, with its final one being a Series A held in 2015. Investors who have financed the company were Playground Global, Allen & Company, Data Collective DCVC, and CME Ventures.
