Meta Watches is a project with the purpose of designing wearable technology and specializing in producing and selling NFT luxury watches. It was founded in 2021 and is a project of German software company Axonic. It is stated that the team members on the project intend to form their own company for Meta Watches in the near future.
Meta Watches are NFT-based artworks on the Ethereum blockchain. They can be bought from the Meta Watches platform and then traded on platforms such as OpenSea. Consumers can choose their watch from various collections with different themes. Some examples of collections are mfatches, Analog Summer, the GM Collection, and The Schachter Welker Collection. When consumers mint their watch, it is being purchased sight unseen and is generated randomly for a unique NFT product. The visual of the watch is revealed after the drop.
Consumers can only pay with Ethereum when purchasing the watches from the Meta Watches platform and must first connect their MetaMask wallet. Once the watches are bought and dropped, consumers can utilize the watch in digital forms, such as on their phone, smartwatch, or desktop screen.
