Material Security

Material Security is a cybersecurity company with an objective to provide data security without negatively impacting productivity. The company was founded in 2017, by Ryan Noon and Abhishek Agrawal, and was formerly known as Stellarite.

The Material platform is compatible with a variety of systems, including Office 365 and G Suite APIs, and does not affect mail exchanger records (MX records) or email delivery. The data filtered through the Material Security platform can be managed and controlled accordingly with the user's preferences, as the solution is deployed as an isolated instance that grants them full control.

The company's Leak Prevention solution is capable of automatically classifying and redacting sensitive content in emails. Upon a user's request, encrypted messages can be retrieved after verification. The Material platform also offers Risk Analytics, which enables analysis teams to discover accounts with sensitive content, MFA bypasses, unsafe forwarding, known breaches, and other risk factors. Issues can be reviewed and remediated by clicking to accept automated fixes executed by the platform.

The solution can also limit the scope of breaches by preventing attackers from utilizing email accounts to hijack other services by verifying users before granting them access to password resets and other important messages. In addition, the platform provides protection against messages that bypass blockers.

Phishing Herd Immunity is Material Security's solution for protection against phishing. It enables employees to report attacks and have them immediately addressed by the automated anti-phishing system. This circumvents the delay and operational hindrance associated with traditional security reviews and prevents other users who might otherwise disclose sensitive information by falling victim to the attack.
