Macromedia

Macromedia was a software company founded by Marc Canter in the United States on January 1, 1992. The company was situated in San Francisco and was part of the software and technology industries. Macromedia was set up as a joint-stock company and functioned as both a company and an organization.

There were two CEOs during its existence: Rob Burgess and Stephen Elop. Macromedia also owned the Allaire Corporation. Eventually, the company was acquired by Adobe Systems in a significant acquisition.
