METabolic EXplorer (METEX) is a biochemistry company developing industrial alternatives to petrochemical processes. The company works to improve efficiency of microorganisms and its technologies to be more competitive in relation to petrochemical processes by diversifying the supply of renewable raw materials.
In 2017 METEX signed an agreement with TOTAL Développement Régional (TDR) for the construction of a PDO/BA (1,3 propanediol and butyric acid) production plant. METEX then stated plans to become a leading supplier of butyric acid for animal nutrition and non-GMO 1,3 propanedio (PDO) for use in cosmetics.
METEX offers bulk chemicals, such as Glycolic acid, L-Methionine, MPG (1.2 Propanediol) and PDO (1.3 Propanediol), which are used in the production of everyday products, such as textile fibres, paints, solvents, animal feed supplements, cosmetics, detergents and renewably sourced plastics. Metabolic Explorer SA sells its products mainly for manufacturers of agro-resources, existing producers of chemical compounds and manufacturers employing chemical compounds.
