LabTwin is a technology company making an artificially intelligent voice powered lab assistant and electronic lab journal for both research and GMP manufacturing that is headquartered in Berlin, Germany and was founded in 2018 by Magdalena Paluch and Steffen Gloth. The voice powered lab assistant made by LabTwin is design to increase the speed and quality of scientific laboratory documentation.
LabTwin is supported by Boston Consulting Group Digital Ventures (BCG Digital Ventures) and Sartorius. BCG Digital Ventures incubated LabTwin's product and company while providing funding, consulting, and resources for design and engineering. Sartorius has supported LabTwin by providing funding, industry knowledge and user contacts. The CEO of Sartorius made the following statement about LabTwin:
At Sartorius we see firsthand the problems scientists face in the lab. They have to interrupt experiments to take notes, search for information and check experimental conditions. LabTwin solves this gap by providing a voice-activated personal lab assistant that literally works alongside the scientist.
