KLEO is a global network, data management and application company. The company aims to develop digitalization and business transformation from space in the industrial internet of things (IIoT) market. After the company works through a development and demonstration phase, KLEO expects to continuously expand the satellite network, establish customer use cases, provide data management platforms and develop solutions for those customers based on specific needs. The industries KLEO focuses on including maritime, aviation, automotive, mining and construction, and agriculture.

KLEO Constellation

KLEO is developing a constellation for the industrial internet of thing (IIoT) market, with relevant industries include automotive, transportation, logistics, mining, construction, agriculture, mechanical, plant engineering, and infrastructure. The expectation for the KLEO constellation is intended to be a constellation of 300 low Earth orbit near-polar satellites.

The initial constellation is intended to reside at 1100 km and the satellites distributed across 12 orbital planes. Each satellite is intended to be equipped with laser communication terminals, connecting satellites within and across orbital planes and with a data rate of up to 10Gbps per link. This will be across the Ka-band.

The company is also developing a ground base, or a mission operation center (MOC), which consists of a distributed network of ground antennas, monitoring and controlling both individual satellites and the constellation as a whole. Besides monitoring the overall health of the constellation and individual satellites, the MOC is used to maintain the correct phasing of the constellation at all times.
