SciQuest held an IPO in 1999 after its founding in 1995 as a B2B e-commerce exchange. In 2001, SciQuest transitioned from a B2B exchange company to an e-procurement software and supplier support platform. SciQuest went private in 2004 to continue its movement into e-procurement, inventory management and lender settlement automation. SciQuest completed its IPO in September 2010, raising about $57 million. SciQuest went private in June 2016 as part of the acquisition of Accel-KKR, a private equity firm headquartered in Menlo Park, Calif. Robert Bonavito became CEO of SciQuest in September 2016, providing over 30 years of leadership in software procurement and sourcing. Vic Chinovet joined the company as CFO in May 2018.

In the first quarter of 2017, SciQuest underwent a rebranding, becoming "JAGGAER" with a more focused focus on a full integrated source-to-pay package combined with Advanced Sourcing and Chemical Inventory Management.
