Inventus Capital was founded by successful entrepreneurs & early-stage VCs with a Founder-first approach. Initially, the firm's cross-border funds backed entrepreneurs in both Silicon Valley & India. However, Inventus is simplifying and expanding with a pure play early-stage Silicon Valley fund and a pure play early-stage India fund. Last fall, our first Inventus Co-Invest Fund was oversubscribed in support of our breakout Silicon Valley companies.
So far, Inventus has backed 40 Founding teams, about half in Silicon Valley, resulting in defining companies like Poshmark, Credit Sesame and Sierra Atlantic in Silicon Valley; redBus, Policy Bazaar and Power2SME in India; with dozens more on similar tracks towards category leadership.
Inventus Capital Partners has been early stage investors through cycles since the 1990s. The company was founded on Nov 30, 2007, by John Dougery, Kanwal Rekhi, and Samir Kumar. Inventus has its headquarters at San Francisco Bay Area, Silicon Valley, West coast.
Inventus Capital Partners has made 73 investments (20 are lead investments). On Jan 22, 2019, they invested 1B rupees in Truebil. The firm has had 11 exits. Their most notable exits include IntelliVision, redBus.in and Aasaanjobs. Inventus Capital Partners has raised a total of $207.8M across three funds.
