HealthyRoad, established in 2013, is a company that has developed a biometric software intended to improve driving safety. The company is based in Porto, Portugal and was founded by Filipe Oliveira, Filipe de Monteiro, and Andre Azevedo.
HealthyRoad provides an embedded system in cars which uses a camera to gather information regarding the driver based on their facial expressions. All of the processing is done in real time and it analyzes drowsiness, stress, distraction, fatigue, and emotion. The software then alerts the driver to focus on driving safe whenever the software thinks that the driver’s behavior could lead to an accident. HealthyRoad's product is also developed to monitor driver behavior and state to know if the driver is able to take over control of a vehicle after autonomous driving.
HealthyRoad is a public company. The company has been funded by 6 investors, including Portugal 2020 and Rockstart Accelerator.
