"Glonass-M" (designation designation: "Uragan-M", GRAU index: 11F654M, 14F113) is a series of spacecraft of the Russian global navigation system GLONASS of the 2nd generation, developed and manufactured by ISS named after academician M. F. Reshetnev. They differ from satellites of the Glonass series (1st generation) by a guaranteed period of active existence (7 years). These satellites emit, in contrast to the devices of the previous generation, already 2 signals for civilian consumers, which can significantly improve the accuracy of positioning.
On July 30, 2015, the completion of the production of satellites of the Glonass-M series was announced. They will be replaced by the next generation devices: Glonass-K and Glonass-K2.
