Drive Medical is a manufacturer of medical equipment. The company's products include mobility products, beds, wheelchairs rehabilitation products, patient room equipment, personal care products, pediatric rehabilitation products, respiratory products, therapeutic support surfaces, sleep products and electrotherapy devices.
Drive was formed in January 2000 under the name Medical Depot, Inc. Not long after the Company started, the ownership recognized the opportunity to reflect the spirit of the Company and the quality of life it provides to the users of their products, and therefore, changed the name to Drive.
In 2015 Drive Medical acquired DeVilbiss Healthcare, a global manufacturer of respiratory and sleep products, from Vestar Capital partners in early July. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. In the short term of the deal, Drive Medical and DeVilbiss were operating independently while working toegether to integrate the two companies, which will be known as Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare, Inc.
