Dennis Gabor was a physicist, engineer, and scientist born in Budapest on June 5, 1900. He held citizenship in the United Kingdom, Hungary, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Gabor was educated at the Technical University of Berlin, the Humboldt University of Berlin, and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. His nationality was United Kingdom.
Throughout his career, he mentored several doctoral students, including Anthony G. Constantinides, Eric Ash, and Jack Cowan. Gabor passed away on February 9, 1979, in London.
Dennis Gabor was awarded the 1971 Nobel Prize in Physics for his invention and development of the holographic method. In 2012, he was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
