Candela is a Stockholm-based company specializing in developing and manufacturing electric hydrofoil motorboats. The company makes electric recreational boats with hydrofoils and launched its first prototype in 2016.

Product

The company's product is the Candela Seven and is a hydrofoiling electric production boat. It is 25 feet in length and has a width of nearly eight feet. The hull, deck, and deck parts are made of carbon fiber and there are two foils on the boat, which are retractable for trailing and storage. Its top speed is 30 knots and has a minimum foiling speed of 17 knots.

The boat uses a multi touch screen for navigation and driving purposes. Navigation, speed, consumption data, navigation lights, and bilge pumps can be viewed and controlled from the screen. Take offs and landings are fulling automated with the boat's technology. The boat also contains waterproof speakers and Bluetooth streaming.

The Candela Seven can be charged using a 230V/16A standard blue CEE outlet. It takes 12 hours to charge the battery, which has a nine year capacity warranty.
