Branch Technology offers a patent pending 3D printing process called C-FABTM. a process that allows material to solidify in open space creating a cell-like matrix in virtually any shape or form. The company was founded by R. Platt Boyd IV.

The company has developed a technology called Cellular Fabrication which combines the use of industrial robotics, algorithms, and extrusion technologies. These technologies allow for build material to solidify in free space without dimensional restrictions or support structures. The goal of the material is to manufacture composite structures with reduced weight, and to utilize twenty times less material than a traditional 3D printing format.

The company has a patented end-to-end hardware and software system that is designed to embrace prefabrication. Their system starts with their free-form polymer matrix. This stage utilizes geometric biomimicry to build cellular-like structures. Next they look to enhance the existing structural capacities and material properties by combining companion materials with the open cells of the printed matrix. The next process includes building upon the custom filled and milled matrix panel's capabilities. The last step is connecting rainscreen hardware or other attachments.
