BERLIN-CHEMIE is an international innovative drug manufacturer through partnerships and licensing agreements with other companies at the international and national levels in the fields of cardiology, respiratory diseases, diabetes, gout and, in the future, oncological diseases.

The company manufactures solid dosage forms (tablets, coated tablets, capsules), liquids (mixtures and drops), suppositories as well as infusion solutions at its production sites in Adlershof and Britz in Berlin.

Berlin-Chemie Representative Office represents Berlin-Chemie, a division of the Menarini Group in Ukraine. The company's divisions operate in 26 countries in Europe and Asia.

History of the company

In 1890, Johannes Kahlbaum founded the chemical-pharmaceutical company Kahlbaum Laborpraparate in Adlershof (Berlin).

At the beginning of the 20th century, the company was already producing over 1,000 different laboratory chemicals and the first medicines.

In 1927, the company merged with Schering.

Since 1937, the company has focused not only on the production of chemical-technological products, but also on pharmaceuticals.

In 1948, the factory, which was located in the zone of Soviet occupation, was confiscated by the Soviet occupation authorities and turned into a state enterprise.

Shortly before the fall of the Berlin Wall, the company was again transformed into a private corporation.

From the 1990s to the present day, the company has grown into a successful international drug manufacturer, operating in 26 countries and supplying drugs to more than 30 countries.

In general, the company now employs more than 5,000 people from more than 70 countries.
