Bellwether Coffee is a California-based coffee company that has designed and produced a coffee roaster that is electric and iOS integrated. It is intended to be used by start-up and small coffee shops. It is being used throughout the United States.
The roaster contains sensors that can monitor the coffee as it is roasting. It uses clean technology that eliminates the smoke that is usually emitted by roasters. There are nine temperature sensors that monitor the roast and a copper hopper located within the device. It is ventless with a catalytic system and has a roaster drum that can roast up to seven pounds of coffee, which can be viewed through the glass window on the device.
Bellwether Coffee has also created software so that consumers can connect the roaster to a mobile application. The software can be used to experiment with roast styles and monitor which ones are optimal for the user's taste or company. Users can also connect to a green coffee marketplace and monitor their own coffee inventory.

On February 1, 2016 Bellwether Coffee completed their seed funding round with $6 million in funding from undisclosed investors.
On August 27, 2018 Bellwether Coffee completed their series A funding round with $10 million in funding from Congruent Ventures (lead investor), XN-Ventures, Tandem Capital, New Ground Ventures, Hardware Club, FusionX Ventures, Peter Rive, and Lyndon Rive.
On September 4, 2019 Bellwether Coffee completed their series B funding round with $40 million in funding from Peter Rive (lead investor), Lyndon Rive (lead investor), DBL Partners (lead investor), XN-Ventures, Tandem Capital, Sprindrift Equities, Hardware Club, FusionX, DBL Partners, Congruent Ventures, and Coffee Bell.
