Arthur Ashkin (born 2 September 1922, died 21 September 2020) was a physicist and engineer from Brooklyn, United States. He received his education from James Madison High School in Brooklyn, Cornell University, and Columbia University.
Ashkin was awarded the 2018 Nobel Prize in Physics and was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2013.
