Arculus provides cold storage security solutions for cryptocurrency needs. The company's portfolio includes cold storage hardware wallets and a wallet application for mobile that securely manages keys, purchases, and sending or receiving cryptocurrency. The Arculus cold storage wallet and companion application were developed by CompoSecure and named after the ancient Roman god Arculus, who was the guardian of safes and strongboxes and ensured the protection of cherished possessions. CompoSecure is a financial technology company with a history of developing security, payment, and digital storage solutions.

Arculus works through the combination of the physical cold storage wallet, or the Arculus card, which is a metal card with embedded security technology including a CC EAL6+ Secure Element Hardware Classification to generate and store private keys. The cold storage wallet works with the Arculus wallet application, available for iOS and Android, to create a three-factor authentication, including a biometric authentication such as a fingerprint for Face ID, a custom 6-digit pin code, and the Arculus Key Card tapped to the back of the mobile phone to sign transactions through near-field communication (NFC).

Private keys are generated, encrypted, and stored in the Arculus Key Card, which does not require any supplemental power, and it never runs out of power. The Arculus Card is shipped locked, meaning the code cannot be updated and it cannot have hacked or infected code introduced. And by using NFC for connection to the wallet application, the range is only a few centimeters, rather than up to 10 meters like Bluetooth, which further increases the security.
