Alex Schultz is the chief marketing officer at Meta, which was formerly known as Facebook, Inc.
Schultz attended Magdalene College from 2000 to 2004, where he graduated with an MSc degree in natural sciences. From 2004 to 2007, Schultz worked as a marketing manager at eBay. Schultz began working for Meta in 2007 as an analyst. In 2014, he became Meta's vice president of product growth, analytics, and internationalization. Schultz became the company's chief marketing officer in September 2020. He is also the executive sponsor of the company's LGBTQ resource group.
Schultz is an outspoken supporter of LGBTQ rights. He is openly gay on his social platforms and has expressed his happiness at Meta's inclusive workplace, saying "Facebook is the first place I have felt truly safe to be gay and be open about it. I’m really grateful for that and the fact Mark built a company where that was possible."
In June 1996, Schultz created a website, paperairplanes.co.uk, called Alex's Paper Airplanes. He posted multiple tutorials on making paper airplanes with different designs. As of January 2022, the website is still live.
