Zume Pizza

Zume Pizza was a pizza delivery service, a part of the Zume Inc company, which was founded in 2015 by Alex Garden and Julia Collins. The company is based in Mountain View, California, United States and served the San Francisco Bay Area. Zume Pizza is no longer in operations since February 2020.

Zume Pizza offers a pizza delivery operation that is mostly done by robotic machinery. This includes processes such as dough-making, spreading the pizza toppings as well as baking the pizza itself. Despite that, Zume Pizza still has human employees to manage the overall operations. To serve the San Francisco Bay Area customers, Zume Pizza relies on truck-based vehicles to function as both the kitchen and the delivery service. By doing this, Zume Pizza is able to serve pizza to customers in less than 20 minutes. Nevertheless, despite this differentiated operating model, Zume Pizza fails to generate the expected revenue and outcome, and Zume Inc decides to focus its attention towards food delivery logistics and compostable packaging.
