Zora Neale Hurston

Zora Neale Hurston was an American anthropologist, historian, novelist, writer, journalist, playwright, and film director. She was born on January 7, 1891, in Notasulga, Alabama, and held citizenship in the United States. Hurston was educated at Howard University, Barnard College, and Columbia University. She is best known for her notable work, "Their Eyes Were Watching God". Hurston received a Guggenheim Fellowship as part of her achievements in her field. She passed away on January 28, 1960, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
