Zestful was a company founded by Carson Potter, Jeff Peterson, and Mat Vogels in 2016. It provided a platform for employee reward management and distribution. Zestful was based in Denver, Colorado, United States.
Zestful’s platform allowed companies to manage employee rewards, outside of the remuneration they receive for their job. Zestful offers several types of employee reward programs; such as allowances, spot rewards, birthdays & anniversaries, as well as peer-to-peer. The reward program did not use a point-based system, rather it used fiat currencies. For allowances, Zesftul provided companies with the ability to set the amount of money each employee received according to their in-house employee benefits policy. Some examples include meal plans, fitness plans, or charity. Spot rewards are one-off automated rewards that authorized individuals could give for other employees’ performance; peer-to-peer operated similarly, but any employee could do it using their own balance. Each employee’s balance could be redeemed in Zestful partners through a Visa card issued for each employee.
Since October 2016, Zestful had managed to raise $6.2 million through four funding rounds and has just started a seed round in September 2019. Investors who provided capital for Zestful were Third Kind Venture Capital, Thrive Capital, BoxGroup, and Matchstick Ventures. Zestful also participated in the YC W17 cohort of Y Combinator and raised an estimated $120,000.
