Yusef Lateef

Yusef Lateef (born William Emanuel Huddleston on October 9, 1920) was an American musician and composer within the music industry who worked primarily in the jazz genre. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and later adopted the pseudonym Yusef Lateef.

Lateef received a Grammy Award for Best New Age Album. He held United States nationality before his death on December 23, 2013, in Shutesbury, Massachusetts.

Yusef Lateef studied at several academic institutions: University of Massachusetts Amherst, Wayne State University, and Manhattan School of Music.
