Wynton Marsalis

Wynton Marsalis is an American composer, bandleader, and musician known for his work in jazz, classical music, and Dixieland. He was born Wynton Learson Marsalis on October 18, 1961, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Marsalis holds United States citizenship and is the son of Ellis Marsalis Jr., a prominent jazz pianist and educator.

Marsalis received his education at several institutions, including the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, Benjamin Franklin High School in New Orleans, and the Juilliard School in New York City.

Throughout his career, Marsalis has received numerous awards and accolades. He has won the Grammy Award for Best Improvised Jazz Solo and the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Instrumental Album, showcasing his talents as a celebrated composer and musician.
