VillageMD is a developer of primary care clinics. The company provides support services to physicians and to patients outside the office visit with aim of better clinical outcomes and enhanced patient experience.

VillageMD partnered with Walgreens Boot Alliance in Houston. The clinics that it operates have contracts with physicians and are located next to five Walgreens stores in the Houston area. The clinics are planned to open by the end of 2019 and will be called “Village Medical at Walgreens”. VillageMD primary care services are closely tied in with pharmacists, nurses and social workers. The company provides tools, technology, operations and staffing support to physicians.

As of 2019 VillageMD has raised more than $215 million. In a round of funding announced in September 2019, the company raised $100 million. This round of funding was led by investment firm Kinnevik, which invested $75 million. Other investors in the September 2019 round include Oak HC/FT, Town Hall Ventures and Adams Street Partners.
