The University of Vermont (UVM) is a public educational institute located in Burlington, Vermont, United States. It was founded in 1791 by Ira Allen and operates in the fields of education, higher education, and as a university . The university's subsidiaries include the Robert Larner College of Medicine, the University of Vermont Medical Center, and the University of Vermont Morgan Horse Farm. UVM's motto is "Studiis Et Rebus Honestis".
UVM holds several accreditations, including those from the American Psychological Association, American Chemical Society, New England Commission of Higher Education, Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
