Ultrahuman is a developer of metabolic health and fitness products designed to help wearers transition to a healthier lifestyle. The products' hardware and software monitor a wearer's biomarkers through its wearable patch and ring, including tracking glucose, sleep, movement, and recovery. The company's wearable tracking technologies are developed for individuals working to live a healthier lifestyle—those interested in fitness, athletes, and biohackers. Ultrahuman was founded in 2020 by Mohit Kumar and Vatsal Singhal and is headquartered in Bangalore.
The Ring AIR is a smart ring designed as a standalone sleep and fitness tracker, which can offer some dietary insights if the wearer logs their diet in a companion app. Further, the ring can work as a complement to the company's metabolic health tracking program. The ring is designed to have a simple look without any design flourishes to make it easier to wear, offered in a dark matte gray color or a polished black color. This makes the ring not look like a piece of technology and is easy to wear for those who do not like wearing fitness watches. The ring is also designed to have a resin underside to not irritate a wearer's skin.
Under the ring's hypoallergenic resin is a sensor array, which includes an infrared photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor with red, green, and infrared LEDs to monitor heart rate and blood oxygen of the wearer. Other features include temperature sensors, a six-axis accelerometer for movement tracking, and a rechargeable 24mAh battery, which can last for around four days before needing a full recharge.
The Ultrahuman M1 is a wearable patch glued to a wearer's arm to track their metabolic fitness. The sensor has a tiny needle that remains inside for the period the wearer decides to keep the patch on, which allows it to track glucose levels. The biosensor allows users to better track how their body reacts to the food they eat, track their activity, and track other fitness metrics.
To receive the information from the patch, a user only needs to scan the sensor using the back camera of their phone after each meal. The app requires the user to enter what they've eaten in a day to get a better idea about how their diet impacts their glucose levels. This is intended to help wearers understand the impact of different foods on their body.
Ultrahuman offers a platform paired with their products that allows users to get real-time, personalized analysis on their metabolic health, which is also intended to provide tailored analysis and advice regarding changes they can make to improve their health, including guidance for better dietary and exercise choices. The platform is offered on a monthly subscription basis, and the company continues to fine-tune the app and its information to provide better information to its users.
