Teqcycle is a German company that offers high-volume recycling of mobile devices, such as cell phones, smartphones, and tablets. The company offers turnkey, secure, and sustainable trade-in solutions for manufacturers, retailers, and other companies and manages the entire value chain, from purchasing the devices to data deletion and resale.
Clients include Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, Samsung, and Huawei. For clients with over five hundred devices, Teqcycle offers customized solutions, including an online portal, tailored to the clients to organize and return devices. The venture capital arm of Deutsche Telekom has been a major investor behind Teqcycle for many years.
Teqcycle's hardware, software, and return process are audited and certified by the German technical inspection association DEKRA. Teqcycle transports the devices with sealed security boxes, insured dispatch, and certified forwarding companies. The company also erases all data from the devices using its BLANCCO tool and provides proof of deletion based on International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) standards.
In addition to ensuring data security, Teqcycle offers active mobile device asset management to larger companies. Teqcycle manages the trade-in process, offers competitive pay for the pre-owned devices and device liquidity, and provides environmental services. Reusable devices go to a new owner and unsellable devices are dismantled sustainably so that their valuable resources can be recycled.
Teqcycle was founded by Sebastian Neubeck and Dirk Ulrich in 2013 as a spin-off from Teqport Services GmbH.
