Sinclair Lewis, born as Harry Sinclair Lewis on February 7, 1885, was an American writer, playwright, novelist, and journalist. He hailed from Sauk Centre, Minnesota, United States. Lewis was also known to have used the pseudonym Tom Graham.

He was educated at Oberlin College and Yale University. Some of his most notable works include "It Can't Happen Here" and "Arrowsmith". In 1930, Lewis received the Nobel Prize in Literature, awarded "for his vigorous and graphic art of description and his ability to create, with wit and humor, new types of characters".

Sinclair Lewis passed away on January 10, 1951, in Rome.
