Simtable is a technology company offering digital sand tables and customized models for wildland fire management, emergency management, defense, and urban security for communities, colleges, and universities that is headquartered in Sante Fe, New Mexico and was founded in 2011 by Stephen Guerin. Simtable uses agent-based modelling, data visualization, human-computer interaction, geographic information systems (GIS), and ambient computing to create interactive digital experiences for emergency hazard situations. Its agent-based models use data from local wildfire, flood, evacuation, storms, airborne particulates, and biological/ecological behaviors to create its simulations.
Simtable customers are eligible to secure grants from local and federal governements to help offset the cost of their purchase of Simtable. Customers have received grants from the following sources: Fire Prevention and Safety Grants (FP&S), Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant Program, Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, Flood Mitigation Assistance Program, Tribal Homeland Security Grant Program, and the Canadian Safety and Security Program.
