Saul Bellow (born Solomon Bellows) was a writer, novelist, author, and essayist from the United States. Born on June 10, 1915, in Lachine, Quebec, Bellow later moved to the United States, where he was educated at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, and the Roberto Clemente Community Academy.
Bellow was the father of Adam Bellow and the founder of News from the Republic of Letters. Throughout his career, he wrote numerous notable works, such as "Henderson the Rain King", "The Adventures of Augie March", and "Herzog".
Saul Bellow's accomplishments as a writer were recognized with a 1976 Nobel Prize in Literature. He passed away on April 5, 2005 in Brookline, Massachusetts.
