Ropsten Testnet

Ropsten (also known as “Ethereum Testnet”) is an Ethereum test network that allows for blockchain development testing before deployment on Mainnet, the main Ethereum network.

Ropsten is the successor of Morden, the first Ethereum Testnet. It is live since November 2016 but was under attack from February 2017 until March 2017.

The network is supported by Geth, Parity, Nethermind and Hyperledger Besu. It was not very stable and sometimes quite slow in the beginning, but it seems to be better in terms of speed.
