Robert Jastrow (born July 9, 1925, and died February 8, 2008) was an American astronomer, physicist, writer, and teacher. He held the citizenship of the United States. Jastrow studied at Columbia University and Townsend Harris High School. He was the founder of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies. He passed away in Arlington County, Virginia.
