Randy Schekman

Randy Schekman is a biochemist, physician, and biologist born on December 30, 1948, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. He holds the nationality of the United States.

Schekman was educated at various institutions, including Western High School in Anaheim, California, Stanford University, the University of California, Los Angeles, and the University of Edinburgh. Schekman had Arthur Kornberg as his doctoral advisor and mentored doctoral students David Julius and biochemist David Baker.

In 2013, Randy Schekman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, and he is currently located in the United States.
