RailYatri was founded by Manish Rathi, Kapil Raizada, Sachin Saxena and is headquartered in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi NCR. The company offers data-driven travel solution to travelers via app and website, and is specially targeted towards the 40 million daily long-distance travel segment in India.
A Live Tracker allowing users to watch the movements of passenger trains running in India on an interactive map was created when Indian Railways Center for Railway Information System (CRIS) and RailYatri joined hands and the service was launched on 10 October 2012.
RailYatri services baby milk to train passengers. Apart from serving baby milk company also services a hygienic meal in state-of-art packaging to train passengers.
The Company uses data mining to inform train passengers how early to book to get a reserved ticket. The feature provides a per hour booking rate for each segment and various destinations based on the past few years trend.
Raliyatri has got funding from Nandan Nilekani, Omidyar Network, Helion Venture Partners and Blume Ventures.
In February 2018, RailYatri acquired YatraChef, a food start-up to manage its pan-India supply side.
