Pond Ventures is a venture capital and private equity firm investing in technology startups that is headquartered in Surrey, England and was founded in 1998 by Charles Irving and Richard Irving. The firm also has offices in San Jose, California and Israel. According to the firms website (as of November 2019) they are no longer making any new investments.
The firm typically focused its investments in European technology companies. Notable investments made by Pond Ventures include: LIveRail, Fluence, Mekanist, Picochip, Nanotech Semiconductor, 4Home, Gigle Networks, Broadway, Transitive, and Microcosm Communications.
In 2005 Pond Ventures announced raising $145 million in funding for their Pond Venture Partners III venture capital fund. The firm officially closed their Pond Venture Partners III fund in 2016.
