Paul Strand (born October 16, 1890, in New York City) was an American photographer, film director, and cinematographer. He was educated at Ethical Culture Fieldston School . Throughout his career, Strand made significant contributions to both photography and filmmaking.
In addition to his roles as a photographer, film director, and cinematographer, Strand was also the founder of the Photo League. Holding United States citizenship, he passed away in Paris on March 31, 1976.
