Auster attended Columbia High School in New Jersey and later graduated from Columbia University .

Throughout his career, Auster has produced works in genres such as prose and literature . Some of his most notable works include "The New York Trilogy," "The Book of Illusions," "Man in the Dark," and "Leviathan" . Auster has also written under the pseudonym Paul Benjamin .
