P3 group

Based in Aachen, Germany, P3 Group is an international management consulting firm. Apart from consulting services, the firm also provides test and engineering services, including software development, for different industries. P3 provides a broad service portfolio for network operators, equipment vendors, device manufacturers, public safety organizations and regulatory authorities worldwide.

Established in 1996 by Thomas Prefi, Christoph Theis, and Thomas Weingarten as a spin-off company of the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT) in Aachen, P3 Group was founded as a result of the development of a quality management system for the then Daimler-Benz AG. In general, the P3 Group possesses a global presence with thirteen companies in thirteen countries at thirty-six locations.

Since 2001, the company has established subsidiaries which altogether form the P3 Group:

• P3 Communications GmbH: Established in 2001 for technology consulting and testing services for mobile networks, services, and terminals

• P3 Voith Aerospace GmbH: Established in 2002 for project management, construction services (electrical and mechanical), calculations, and technical documentation for international aviation

• P3 North America Inc.: Established in 2005 for management consulting, project management and Elektrik-/Elektronik-Testdienstleistungen for Automotive and Aerospace. It is headquartered in Detroit

• P3 Automotive GmbH: Established in 2006 for management consulting, project management and construction services for the European automotive industry and its suppliers. It is based in Stuttgart

• P3 Aviation Ltd.: Established in 2006 for quality management, configuration, and project management for the aerospace industry, and industry-independent medium-sized industry with headquarters in Hamburg

• P3 Systems GmbH: Founded in 2006 for testing services of Telematics and Elektrik-/Elektronik-Systemen for the automotive industry based in Stuttgart

• P3 Ingénieurs SAS: Founded in 2007 for configuration and project management for the French aerospace industry based in Toulouse

• P3 Marketing and Sales GmbH: Founded in 2009 to provide marketing support for the projects of the P3 company based in Stuttgart

• P3 Energy GmbH: Founded in 2010 as a management and technology consulting for the German energy supply and testing services of power networks and storage systems, located in Aachen
