NY CREATES IS A WORLD-LEADING R&D, INNOVATION HUB AND COMMERCIALIZATION FACILITATOR IN ADVANCED DIGITAL, ANALOG AND POWER TECHNOLOGIES.
NY CREATES aims to further accelerate the growth of high-value, high-technology companies, by attracting entrepreneurs to New York State, and supporting them through ideation, incubation and investment phases.
NY CREATES continues the long-standing push to provide an invigorating environment for high technology industries – which in the past twenty-plus years has seen the establishment of IBM Research’s CMOS technology development facility, Tokyo Electron Ltd’s Technology Center America at Albany, the recently announced Applied Materials META Center, GlobalFoundries’ flagship fab at Malta, NY, Danfoss’s power electronics packaging facility at Marcy, NY, and CREE Wolfspeed’s announcement it is expanding in NY, among others.
NY CREATES will serve as a resource for public-private and academic partnerships within New York State to create and lead industry connected innovation and commercialization projects that attract investment and create growth in high technology jobs.
Additionally, NY CREATES facilitates global partnerships and research efforts that propel forward industries engaged in nanoelectronics, advanced analog and digital technologies.
- NY CREATESNY CREATES is a research and economic development non-profit in New York state that performs advanced research in a number of technical areas. They have state-of-the-art facilities in Albany, NY, and Rochester, NY for 300 mm wafer fab and Test, Assembly, and Packaging respectively. Their quantum research work focusses on superconducting technologies (both for qubits and for single flux quantum (SFQ) logic circuits), and UV-transparent waveguides and electro-optic devices (for photonic interfaces to trapped ions, say). They are a part of the Brookhaven-led C2QA, and have had research programs funded by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) on a couple of different directions (superconducting optoelectronics for neuromorphic computing, photonic integrated circuits, fluxoniums).
