We founded Monos with these travellers in mind, because we are these travellers too.
Our name is inspired by the Japanese concept of mono no aware – roughly translated as “the bittersweet poignancy of things”. Like falling cherry blossoms, moments, experiences, and people drift in and out of your life – but it is their impermanence that makes them all the more beautiful. We believe that when we are present in the moment and mindful in our travels – when we are passionate wanderers – that is when the deeper beauty of the world reveals itself.
As fellow travellers, we understand that the journey is as important as the destination, and we’ve made it our mission to create thoughtfully designed, functional travel pieces to aid in your wandering, wherever it might lead you.
