Mikhail Gorbachev was born on March 2, 1931, in Privolnoye, Krasnogvardeysky District, Stavropol Krai. He was a Russian politician, lawyer, and environmentalist, and held multiple occupations throughout his life. Gorbachev was educated at Stavropol State Agrarian University.
Gorbachev had citizenship from the Soviet Union and Russia. He founded The Gorbachev Foundation and was the owner of Novaya Gazeta, a Russian newspaper. Novaya Gazeta was a subsidiary of the Gorbachev Foundation.
In his career, Gorbachev received multiple awards, including the 1990 Nobel Peace Prize, Order of Lenin, Order of St. Andrew, Order of Honor, Order of the October Revolution, and Order of the Red Banner of Labour.
Mikhail Gorbachev, originally named Mikhail Sergeevich Gorbachev, passed away on August 30, 2022. He died in Moscow.
