Mercy For Animals is an international nonprofit organization. Founded by Milo Runkle in 1999, MFA works to create a society in which animals are treated with the respect they so rightly deserve, focusing primarily on farmed animal advocacy, and promoting cruelty-free food choices. MFA works through proactive consumer education and advertising campaigns, research and undercover investigations, working with news media, and advocacy campaigns.that conducts undercover investigations of factory farms and slaughterhouses, engages with corporations to create animal welfare policies, and raises public awareness about animal suffering. Additionally, the legal team of Mercy For Animals has broken new ground in protecting whistleblowers and creating animal welfare laws. The organization has gained an important role within the animal advocacy community, and today has teams in Brazil and Latin America, as well as staff in India and the Asia Pacific.

Current Programs:

MFA offers a number of programs and campaigns designed to educate the public on animal protection issues, including undercover investigations to expose animal abuses; the Farm to Fridge video campaign; on-demand presentations about the health, environmental, and ethical concerns surrounding factory farms and slaughterhouses; print and digital advertisements and public broadcasts; vegetarian dining information designed to help restaurants expand their meatless offerings; leafleting; educational exhibits; vegan feed-ins, which demonstrate the variety and abundance of vegetarian food options; and library outreach, which consists of donating resources, such as films and books, to libraries nationwide. The organization also publishes a bi-annual magazine, Compassionate Living, and maintains three Web sites — ChooseVeg.com, VegGuide.org, and FowlPlayMovie.com.
