Madlib, born Otis Jackson Jr. on October 24, 1973, is a composer, disc jockey, record producer, and rapper from the United States. He is originally from Oxnard, California. Madlib is a pseudonym inspired by the popular word game, Mad Libs. In addition to Madlib, he goes by several other aliases including DJ Rels, Quasimoto, Yesterdays New Quintet, Beat Konducta, and The Loop Digga.
Madlib's music encompasses several genres such as hip hop music, psychedelic music, electronic music, funk, jazz, soul music, jazz fusion, and hip hop production. As a key figure in the music and music industry, he utilizes music technology to create unique sounds and contributes to various projects. Madlib started his career in 1993, and one of his notable creations is the album Madvillainy.
