Lars Onsager

Lars Onsager was a Norwegian-American physicist, engineer, chemist, and professor . He was born on November 27, 1903, in Oslo, Norway and held citizenship in both Norway and the United States .

Onsager studied at the Norwegian Institute of Technology and later earned a degree from Yale University . He was a doctoral student of Peter Debye and supervised the doctoral work of Joseph L. McCauley .

In recognition of his work, Lars Onsager received the 1968 Nobel Prize in Chemistry . He passed away on October 5, 1976, in Coral Gables, Florida .
