History

The company was founded by Paul Mecca and Joe Mecca after designing a branded charging kiosk for the American Airlines Center.

In 2012, KwikBoost began selling the first mobile phone charging station on the market. Many universities began adopting KwikBoost charging stations for their students this same year.

Later, KwikBoost introduced a locker for storing individual devices. Campuses who had purchased the lockers reported that rather than leave their locked devices, students preferred to stand by the stations and wait as they charged. In June, KwikBoost acquired Brightbox, a competing charging company. In September 2018, KwikBoost was ranked #3376 on Inc Magazine's annual 5000 list.
