Julie London was born Julie Peck on September 26, 1926, in Santa Rosa, California. She held multiple occupations throughout her life, including singer-songwriter, actor, character actor, and musician. Her education took place at Hollywood Professional School.

London was a United States citizen. She was active in the music industry, where she performed a variety of genres such as pop, traditional pop, jazz, jazz standard, cool jazz, and pop rock. She often performed under the pseudonyms Julie London and Julie Peck.

On October 18, 2000, Julie London passed away in Encino, Los Angeles, at the age of 74.
